ok, i want to run a tial bov with the stock IC piping. what exactly am i going to have to do here? from what i've heard, mounting a aftermarket bov where the stock recirculation valve was doesn't work too well. any truth to this rumor? or is it just becuase you won't be able to hear it as well compared to having it in the engine bay. anyway, i would rather have it in the engine bay, somewhere near the turbo, like most aftermarket applications. should i just replace part of the plastic bov piping with something i can mount a flange on?

im running a vented stock sr bov. Its sucks. But sounds sort of nice when it opens up. Most of the time it doesnt and i get compressor surge sound thing.

Most people place a aftermarket bov on the metal 2" diameter pipe that goes from the rubber elbow coming out of the turbo to the intercooler. The metal pipe is about 8" long, give or take 1". Thats the only metal place to fit one, other than the intercooler but from what ive seen coming from japan, they cap off the pipe going to the stock bov and remove the bov completely.

so now that i'm thinking of using the SR sidemount IC, that application would probably have the stock BOV from the SR (unless i'm only using the core and not the piping). if this is what i'm going to do, would i just remove the stock BOV and patch the place where it was?

yeah, mine had a rubber cap on it, but the stock bov was still held on by a 10mm bolt. I just went out and bought a U shaped hose to run the stock bov again.

Like i said, 50% of the time it wont open up and get the weird sequential sound. The other 50% it sounds nice when it opens up.
