I took the running boards off my 2002 Qx4 a couple of years ago due to rust damage. Threw them out and have been regretting it ever since. New running boards for both sides would have been more than $2,000.00 plus shipping. I've been looking online for a couple of years for replacements and finally found a set through car-part . com ...

Just drove 1700 hundred miles round trip to get the boards for $300.... Driving from Ohio to Alabama where obviously rust wasn't a problem.... Exact match on color, year etc on the boards....

Just put the boards back on this week and finally feeling whole again... Just didn't look right without the boards.

1700 miles is about $377 in gas for me. Did you at least have a good look at Alabama?

Was about 250 plus night at hotel.... Drive down I-65 was a breeze. I would have had them shipped to me but salvage yard refused... But, it was nice to get out and see a different part of the country.

And I thought I went to a lot of trouble making my own running board brackets. A road trip sure beats spending hours metalworking though.

Wow, lot of effort there.

My right side is bent due to coming down on curb/parking corner. Anyone think the plastic cover could be taken off and then the metal running board bent back to reasonably straight position.
