I might have to run an additional 12v lead to the dome. I need this to be key-activated. Should I just run from the fuse panel or can I leech off the dome light somehow? Also, How would someone go about running wire to the dome and not have it fall out?

What are you trying to run off that exactly?

Professionally you should never leech off any circuit, car or house, but if you do it right and make sure the amp draw is decently far from the limits you will be fine.

I leached off my 3 series interior light to hardwire my valentine radar detector which worked fine, not much additional amperage there.

I say cigarette lighter / 12V in the center console or under the stereo. Just use that.

And snake a wire all the way up there?

I wonder how long the power cord is for my radar detector.

How do I tack the wire up there?

Ok slow down haha. Why do you need power from the dome light for your radar detector? I think you need to explain your setup a bit more because it's kind of confusing what you want to do.

i'm guessing on what you're trying to do here, but if you're trying to setup your radar detector which you're mounting near the rear view mirror, it's easier to tap into the A pillar for power.

I went ahead and snaked a complete line all the way up the pillar. Nice.
