I was driving the car for some time yesterday and began to wonder, whats a reasonable amount and length of time that the kade should be driven hard? i.e. in the powerband, up down hills, turns, etc. Where I live there are a lot of hills, straight aways, turns, etc all of which are fun as hell to drive on, but I don't want to break the limits. I know it ultimately depends on age of motor, how well it was taken care of, maintence, etc but I'm just looking for a general how long of a duration of making the motor work fast for. Also, dumb question, but looking for confirmation: My p/s pump wasn't being used for a while because of a leaky gasket and was runnig freely with the belts. When I replaced the gasket and got it all connected, bled, and such, it started to smoke. It worked properly, but it was burning to much or heating up to much. May it have went bad? I've got access to another, but again, I'm just looking for a little more consistency then the search gave me.

My 96 240sx did 3 NY to MI and MI to NY trips. It's about 650 miles. I usually drive around 80-90 for about 9.5 hours. Even after these long trips my 240 purrs...

Does your engine have any mechanical problems? Is your timing chain okay, cooling system free of flaws, oil pump in good condition, and oil sump free of blockage that could cause oil starvation? As long as all maintinence, and fluid changes are kept up with you should have no problems. Put a GOOD oil in it (I highly recommend Mobil 1 Synthetic 0W-40).

Its a KA, they are hard to kill. You should be able to give it a good beating with no adverse affects. Hell, I beat the s*** out of my KA at times, but I am meticulous on preventative maintinence. I want my baby to be around for a long time.

Well, my ka24e just threw a rod on me tuesday but I managed to locate a '93 ka24de so that'll go in next week. The E had 175,000 miles on it and I ran it like hell for the last 15,000. By hell I mean 3 minute sustanded donuts around a light pole, clutch locking it around corners to drift them, etc. As long as you are nice to your engine it and don't abuse it quite like I did, it should for damn near ever.

Does pulling the ebrake then popping the clutch in 2nd at 30 on a dirt road to do a beautiful 180 while my car is hidden admist dirt, rocks flying, and then emerge from the cloud goign 40 count as beating it to hell? Scared the hell out of my friend think he wet himself then he was like hoyl s*** I can't beleive we just did that dam that was skill..I just smiled. Florida has soem very nice areas to drift. But too mnay people on the streets. That's what hurricanes are for....clear the way for the drifting population.
