Lately when driving over uneven road surfaces, there's been a hellish "rumpety" noise coming from the front end. Almost like I'm driving over road safety strips at a quick pace.
I can feel these little bumps through the floor while driving. Was originally only on the drivers side, but now I can seem to feel them coming from the passenger side as well.
It's not a constant thing. The condition of the road surface seems to dictate when/where this issue arises.
I had one of the tie rods replaced last year to correct a problem where the steering was way off (I had to turn the wheel 90 degrees to keep it straight), so I don't know if that could be part of it or if it's the shocks/struts/something else.
This sound familiar to anyone?
Also, she's a 1998 Pathfinder LE with 195K miles on her. I know that in the past year I've put well more into her (new step bars, sunroof replacement, new exhaust) than what she's worth on the bluebook.
Is it worth repairing her as the engine is still strong or do I want to start looking for another used Pathfinder/QX4?
