well, looks like im in for a set of RUCAs.

yes i know, SSAC doesnt have the best parts.

anyways, i wanted to ask.i KNOW for a fact that many people here are running SPL/CUSCO RUCAs and they love em, but who actually runs the SSAC parts and has PERSONAL experience with them?

any feedback is a +, just personal experience feedbacks, no pulling things out of your *** because you knew a friend's friend who busted so and so from SSAC.

share first hand experiences only please.thank you.

well since nobodys answered yet, i figure i can maybe help somewhat

i have heard stories, i have seen pics, but no, i have no personal experiences with them

the way i always think about it though, is it really worth the risk? do you really want to be driving around knowing that youve got a good chance of having a suspension failure, when you could have saved just a little more and not had to worry about it?

At the same time though, most folks haven't even held an SSAC link to be really able to say "they're junk" with some authority. It does always seem to be heresay, and considering how much it does actually cost to setup a real deal factory to get some of these parts made, something tells me alot of these parts are being made in the same factory, coated different colors and tossed into different boxes but have one called crap and the other gold.

I ran the ebay ones, they were dark blue and I paid about 130$ shipped 3 years ago. They were the cheapest at the time.

I had to get them replaced because of 2 problems 1) the rusted ball joint made MAJOR squeak, the type of squeak that turns head. It squeaked when I go over any bump. 2) it stopped being adjustable. The thread became rusted and it was stuck at -1.5 degree

you know, I don'[t mind losing adjustablility, I don't mind if it cracked, but I can't stand the noise

it feels sooooooooo much better without that constant squeaking

well,i saw the spl parts and the ssac parts.... although not in person, thru pictures..

they dont looks MAJORLY different from eachother..if you grease up the ball joint and keep the threads with good copper antiseize or somthing on em..

maybe reinforce the metal or something..anyways, im sure people who actually had the parts could chime in about it..

it is not as easy as it sound, grease will dry up, are you going to jack up your car to lube it every week? I now have the spl and it looks like the ball joint is made from aluminum. I am not entirely sure but it might be a solid piece vs a hollow piece for the ones I had on ebay. I don't know what type of weld they used but it looked a lot like my full race manifold that was tig welded very nicely.

I have been running the ones from Powertrix (same as all the other ebay ones IMHO) for quite some time. I did have to replace them but that's because I bent one hitting a curb on the freeway. They have been really quite durable and the new ones I got have a rubber dust boot on them which prevents the grease from drying up. I never have to grease them and I have no noise, though with the original ones I did because they didn't have the boot on the ball joint. All in all, I couldn't say anything bad about the newer ones with the nice chrome finish.

Okay, babowc. Look no further. Get SPL RUCAs. I recently bought a pair and installed them before that I personally looked at pairs from SSAC, Megan and ProjectSilvia(same as Courtesy Nissan). SPL hands down. You don't have to worry about anything once you install them. You know what? SSAC used cheap plastic for the ball joint. I couldn't believe my eyes. Do not support that kind of company. Like you, I also tried to save some money, but this is not something you should cheap out on. Trust me on this because I've seen all of them and compared.
