Whenever I put my car in reverse and start to back up it makes a groaning sound in the back. Sounds kinda like as if the tires are rubbing the wheel wells or somethng but there's no way this is happening on a stock suspension. It only makes this sound when in reverse going slow. Could it be bearings? Confused! And godamn is it embarrising when I'm parallel parking.

It's usually the rear brake pads. When they get thin they vibrate against the rotor when going in reverse because they sit loose in the caliper and get rubbed the wrong way. The noise went away completely when I changed the rear pads.

Hrm, I'll have to check that out and see. But if I remember right. They started doing that right after I got them replaced though. Maybe it's just the type of pads. I can't remember what they are. They're about a year old now. Lemme know if your's stop doing that when you replace em' Bendychicken! Also, anyone have any reccomendations for good brake pads that don't turn my 17's black in the rain. God those wheels are a ***** to clean!

It worked! here's what I did:I cleaned and greased all the sliding surfaces of the clips that hold the pads. cleaned and greased the studs that the caliper floats on. then I replaced the pads.worked like a charm.

Remember! turn the caliper pistons to make them go in. that's what those grooves are for. don't push them in.
