this sounds almost what happened to mine.

mine was worse it's more of a screech.

but i figured it out that it was my brake disc.

so go check that out on yours that could be

just the problem. or your pads.

check your caliper its probably seizing. if it's coming from the front take it off and squeeze the piston with a huge pair of pliers. If the piston dpesn't want to move its seized and holding the brake pads applied. Happened to my 240sx in the rear caliper.

jack it up and spin it by hand forward/reverse and listen for the noise.

are you sure its from the front and not the rear? Some S-chassis rear caliper assembly will vibrate against the rotors and make a grinding noise when backing upits normal

I second that. I've heard five different 240s that do that. It happens occasionally, its normal.

When was the last time you changed your brakes? Mine used to do the exact same thing only when rolling backwards after I change my brakes it just went away.

when i changed mine i also found out i had a bad caliper, that might be the issue too, when i used a vice to squeeze it down the seal around the pistol busted and brake fluid came out all over it was sad.
