My O2 extension is rubbing up against my steering column. I can't figure out why. I think I might have an aftermaket extension that came with my motor, but I really don't have anything to compare it to.

I'm gonna try and describe my O2 extension, can someone tell me if this sounds like the stock one. The one I have is stainless steel, and it has a seprate smaller tube that come from the waste gate and eventually joins back in at the end of the extension. This smaller pipe is what is rubbing. I had the extension off when the motor was out of the car and on the inside of the extension it looked like there was a cast divider that separated the exhaust flow from the wastegate flow. Does this sounds stock?

You should really take a second look at the title of this thread.

I read as far as "stainless steel" before I knew your o2 extension wasn't stock.

Take it to a welding shop and see if they can notch it out a little bit where it is rubbing. Or you could bang it out a little bit. Not a lot though.

Yeah that HKS one is what it looks like. it has that seperator as well. If they make one for the t-25 then that's probably it.

Now I just have to figure out the best way to fix it. I really don't want to have to take it off to fix. That thing was a PITA to get back on with the motor out of the car. It would probably be even more with the engine in the car. I was thinking of maybe getting like a small C clamp and putting something on the other side and tighteng it, so it just kinda dents in the small part that's rubbing. Probably not the best thing to do, but if it doesn't work or I wind up cracking the pipe, then i'll just find a stock replacemant. and if it does work, even with the dent it will probably still be better than the stock one.

Buud: how could a welding shop notch it out, I don't think I know what you mean.
