I was just wondering what is meant by the slip fit design. It doesn't seem to have any flanges that connect the two sections. What is the benefit and how does it work? Otherwse I love the design. Talk about straight!

it uses springs that hold the two tubes together so there is no need for flanges

theres a pic of the spring section here:http://www.rs-r.com/exmag_gt2.htm

And here's (from what I believe) the cheapest price...

Only $490! But wow, that anti-flange piping is damn sexy...

Don't worry about me getting the GT2. I prefer the other RS*R Ex-Mag exhuast...

Maybe it's just me, but I dig the stealthy-look, the (supposedly) quiter exhuast note and the lack of a 4" tip... ;)

I'm getting the RS*R Ex-Mag too. I cannot STAND all the loud ricers where I live, and I'd just love to mention having a performance exhaust that didn't sound like a *****ing bumblebee. Ooooh, rice makes me mad.

One problem with Ex-Mag - 80mm piping.Too much for N/A

I was looking for RS*R Ex-Mag and even found one for 420 plus shipping. But than I saw this sweetness from HKS:

http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=789

New series sport exhaust with a very pleasant looking tip and 65mm piping. Watch the MR2 video. Probably the best exhaust note I've heard on N/A car.

Thre's none for S14 yet but I hope that there will be one soon.

Hell, screw the RS*R ExMag!

http://www.store.yahoo.com/pha....html

Just saw that they now carry the 5Zigen Border-III exhaust :), both in 60mm and 70mm applications. And only $465! (add $100 for 70mm) Seems the 70mm would be kinder to a N/A compared to the Ex-Mag's 80mm piping...

Sigh, the 5Zigen has flanges though. How old-school... ;)

Hey man, look for dealers at HKS website. You have S13 so there's one for your application already and I don't think you would have problems finding one.

Nothing wrong with flanges IMO. Has anyone used this Border system ? I want a soundclip if possible.

Well here's where I guess you could say I got my "inspiration"...

Check out the "5Zigen Border-III Install" pics on that site...Sweet looking exhaust IMO... even with the flanges. ;)

Well, I guess I kinda got you covered...http://velocity.isfaster.com/sections/sound.htm

They only have Border-III sound clips for the Chaser and Miata, but if you only download one clip, it should be the Apexi-N1 on the S13 Silvia. Gotta love that tire-spin! :ylsuper
