Does anyone know the diameter of the RS-R EX MAG exhaust for the 95 - 98 nissan 240sx? I want to know if it is 3" so that I can use it for 15psi of turbo boost. Let me know if you know. thanx

80mm = 3.15incheshttp://www.rs-r.com/products/exhaust/exmag.php

Sounds good for a 15psi turbo. Try to buy/fab a nice 3" downpipe to good with it.

Where do you see that spec. I cant seem to find it on the website link you supplied? I just got off the phone with RS-R, they said the piping is 60mm.

That page has the specs listed for all the Ex Mag applications. Just scroll down to 240sx and it says 80mm piping for both the S13 and S14.

If RS-R says its 60mm, I'd trust them over their website. Maybe you should contact a sponsor that sells RS-R as a tie breaker. The Exmag GT II says 80mm on the website...

I have the RS*R Exmag exhaust and trust me it's 80mm all the way to the muffler tip.I dont know why they would say its 60mm they use that size piping on NA cars,And the piping for the s13 and s14 is made for the sr20det.

I want to be able to push 15psi through this thing. Will the RS-R EX MAG be able to handle this kind of boost guys?

And then some,This is what looks to me the best flowing exhaust,80mm piping,No resinator,Stright though muffler. You dont need any bigger piping then 80mm,Unless you have like 700hp.And with 15psi theres no way.LOL

15 psi on what turbo?

pressure alone doesnt say a lot, pressure from a certain turbo is where numbers come from

that said even if its 60 mm it should be good to about 250 rwhp or so, if its 80 it should be good no matter what

It will probably be a FMAX (Turbonetics) or IAP. Either way it will be a kit. Right now I have a BRM 2.25 exhaust. I think maybe I can get 7psi out of that.

what im trying to say is you could have a monstrous turbo and a t25 or something

the t25 at 7 psi might make 200hp, but the monster might make 350 at the same psi

the psi has nothing to do with the exhaust

those kits both make around 220-230rwhp, so you should be fine with a 2.25

Without a doubt, you dont NEED a 3" exhaust.

Exhaust piping diameter is dependent on airflow, not boost pressure. As nismofly said, 15psi from a T28 isnt flowing nearly as much air as 15psi from a T3/T4.

At 15psi, your T3/T4 from the IAP kit will be much happier (and make more power) with a 3" exhaust from the turbo back.
