rpm too low when i shift to neutral

so i just got my sr swap and theres a minor problem. The rpm drops too low when i shift to neutral...it goes down to somewhere near 400 rpm. what can cause the problem?thanx in advance for the help!

Its caused by the BOV or recirc releasing air. Bump up your idle to about 800-1000 and you should be fine. BTW the idle adjuster is the little gray, plastic screw inbetween the third and fourth intake manifold runners.

Tighten your BOV down before you go bumping up the idle. You rarely need to adjust that.

One of my friends came over and was having problems with the car dying all the time, and I asked him at least a half dozen times if he made sure no air was coming out of his BOV. He said it was. So I messed with the idle, changed some vaccum tubing, couple other things and his car was still dying. So, on a hunch, I put my hand by the BOV and I could feel air coming out when it shouldn't. Tightened it down, and problem solved.

And if you have the stock recirc, bump up the idle. The recirc will even trip up the idle a little bit, but not as much as an atmospheric BOV that has no compensation device.

Oh yea. Heh. If it's not ATM, then you may need to touch the idle. Thanks for adding that SR1.
