Does anyone know what the redline is from the rb20det motor on the 240sx tach?

I heard its like 8 or 9 grand?

red paint means **** nothing.the ecu controls redline, which is 7.8k on an rb20.you should have the tach recalibrated anyways as running a 6cyl engine on a 4 cyl tach is NOT gonna be accurate at all.

mine redlines at 8200rpm on my ecu. thats what my s-afc2 shows.

the tach if hooked up to the stock gauge cluster unmodified it will see 1.5x higher than what it actually is. once you modify the cluster to read accuratley yes the motor will redline around 7,500-8,200rpm.

You guys are missing the point. He has a rb20det with a stock cluster. Hasn't changed anything, recalibrated anything or converted to LSauto gauges. Stock gauge reads 1.5x higher and he wants to know what the stock gauge cluster will read at ECU redline. hope that clairifies things sorry I don't work on rb20s or I would know.

i think he needs to just hit redline and make a mental note or put in the tach from the rb20 gauge cluster

That works. lol just thinking about that.... A friend of mine wanted to set his shift light for his autometer tach. Guess what he did... held it at redline for about 30 seconds so he could adjust it.... lets just say he needs a motor.-Alex

It'll go up past 9k before you hit it.

I adjusted my 240's tach and it reads within about 50-100 rpms all the way up to redline.

thanks for the info. I have a HKS SAFR jthat tells me the RPM, it just seemed extremely low compared to my 240 tach. I would be at like 7 grand on my 240tach and it would say like 3200 that area...

Seem right?
