Check your timing, ground connections, fuel pump, injectors, and mafs.

It can be many more problems. What I mean by checking the MAFS is to have it cleaned, then check if there is varying voltage while the engine is running with a multimeter.

hey whether you have ever had the transmission out or not check all the connectors and sensors, there are a few 2 wire sensors, and if you set the trans on the floor two prongs will bend and touch and not allow you to go much over 5200. let me know if it worked Stefan

so is that a yes to the boost gauge!? just cause stock boost is 6or7 doesnt mean thats what your at.. mine was at 10 and i didnt have a controler. also is your BOV atmospheric or recirculating ? that makes a differanve ! if its a recirculating one and its not adjusted it could be leaking air back into the intak and that could cause un metered air into the system also can create turbulence by the MAF and itll cause all kinds of problemns .. i had this on my CA

I think if it was the maf, then it wouls do it more consistantly. Not just at 4000k rpms. and struggling to get to 5k rpms sounds more like a choking problem, maybe the turbo needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Blown turbos lose alot of top-end efficiency but may still run ok when in the lower rpms.

Sounds like your bov or recirc valve is leaking. Make sure you. Even if the gauge is reading good boost, the turb may still be having a hell of a time getting to full boost because of this leak. Anyway, I would pressure test the whole system, but your symptoms sound like the valve is leaking.
