HELP! My repair people have really tried to fix this problem. I was leaking oil internally so we replaced manifold gasket, valve cover gasket, cam sensors and seals, oil cooler gasket, oil pan set lower. After all that, my rpm's are running too high and confused up and down hill's. Does that mean I still have a leak somewhere. Need to fix this, I can not afford a car right now! Help!!!!!!!!!

You need to complete the idle relearn process.

Tell them not to touch the throttle body butterfly....it is very sensitive and will break if handled.

After the wise responses from all of you I took my car to the Columbia, SC Infiniti dealership and told them what I had done to the car. I asked the "service manager" to do an idle relearn on my car. He told me that they were not allowed to work on my car because I had had it worked on somewhere else!

He tried to tell me that many things could be wrong with the car, and that it could be more than the idle relearn. He said that the car was not drivable for long distances and that it could not be fixed.

I took the car to an "old man" that works on Nissans in his yard. He had it fixed in 15 minutes and charged me $20.

As much as I have loved my Infiniti, I will not buy another one. I do not like or trust their service department!

You could have done the idle relearn process yourself.

I now have the instructions and can do myself! I just can't believe Infiniti was not more cooperative! But then again, history repeats itself!

i get why they was scared to work on it... cause it makes them liable for something they didnt dianose first... but telling you extra stuff IDK why they did that? smh...

so far my dealer has been honest about problems. i dont go into the dealer or any shop without having a good idea of whats wrong with my car. Then i wait and see if they going to tell me the same thing of something simular to what i already figure is wrong.

That's very odd. The two different Infiniti dealerships I use have never complained about anything and is always willing to perform whatever work I want.

Buy a factory service manual and you can do anything to your car, assuming you have the tools and technical know-how. A factory service manual and a code reader= never having to take your car to a mechanic again.
