rpm rev governer please help really scarry

hey i have a question that i need answered immediately.... i was goin to work yesterday doin about 70 on a back road and was in 4th at about 5200 rpm and was gettin ready to back off when my car just died i still had it in gear and it push started itself i did it again on the way home same situation doin 70 in 4th at around 5200 rpm and it died so i took it out of gear and pulled over and it started right back up, its not a alternator prob and not batt and pretty sure i dont have a short or anything only thing i can think of is it has a rpm governer am i correct i need help if this isnt it i need to have my car looked at ....

you sure it was 70? i seem to remember that at 40 is like 100+ although i could be wrong....

a speed/rev gooverner comes in at 118mph

only in 4th? how are the other gears?

yea well it hasnt happend in 5th i usally dont get to use 5th much but i'm not possitive but i think it almost did it again tonight but i was only doin about 50 in 4th and at about 3800 rpm and it like acted like it died then as the rpm's started to fall to zero it push started itself ... i'm not possitive i need to pay more attention but i had my stereo up real loud so i didnt hear the rpms but i know i was around 3800

hmmm, so it dies on all cyls for just a moment? that sounds like a power supply problem. try the wiggle test on your batt harness and ecm harness.

ok new thing i've been doin it purposely to c if i could confirm the problem and its doin it in 4th so far havent gotten into 5th but it does it as soon as i push in the clutch, i watched the rpms and the last few times they dropped down to like 300 rpm and the car started to shake then the rpms went back to normal coast around 750 and car didnt die and it hasnt completely died since that first time but i need this fixed.... what do i wiggle the batt terminal and the ecu or what could u give me an idea of where this is located?

ah hah, you push clutch and it drops low? thats more definable. that could be a low base idle, timing, fuel pressure, maf, ect, etc. i would start by bumping up the base idle a hair. it may not change the actual idle but may "help" the iac make its adjustments.

thanx for all ur help chris but i found the problem i started to diagnose the problem today and made a few runs and then i checked all my vacumes and then noticed i had a huge hole in the rubber part of my intake hose and it was suckin all the air from their so that when i pressed my clutch it tricked the maf and it would shut the car down so i put a regular hose on it and cut the breather coming from the head and put a little filter on it and its runnin great thanx anyways for helpin
