Before you start screaming 10k rpm, you may want to take into consideration what happens to an engine at high rpms. For one, it squeezes the oil clean out of the bearings and will do damage if your oil pump can't keep up with the demand.
The stock CA18DET valvetrain floats at or around 8700rpm, but will ocassionally let you tap 9k rpm. If you have a crappy T25, then doing that is worthless. If you got a bigger turbo, it aids in keeping the engine and bigger turbo in it's sweet spot between shifts. The stock valve train will serve most of you guys' needs around here, but I need more. I plan on setting my limiter at 9500rpm to help me spool the 60-1 and never let it sleep between shifts.
