Hello,i figured with different size of tires (taller vs. sorter) i would notice rpm changes, but i didnt.

One thing for sure with 10mm shorter tires i run in the summer, the car is much more responsive due to the higher rpm of course, but again rpm stays the same.

i thought with resetting the computer i would see the difference in rpm, because it would adapt to the new tire size, but at 8o mph i am still at 3k rpm like with stock tires.

Any ideas?

Thanks,Caug.

I would think you should be turning a bit higher in RPM's, but then again, it may not be enough to make a difference.

Do a Google search for "tire size calculator" and the first one will be Miata.net. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Put in your tire sizes and it will tell you the differences. Hope that will shed some light on the subject.

The gauge will stay the same but your actual speed is different. get a gps device and you'll see. only way you'll see it on the gauge is to have the ecu calibrated for the tire size on your car - the ecu cannot do this on it's own.
