with stock HLA's???? I am considering a KA-T drag setup with a HX40 Pro Holset turbo and would like to know what the rev limit is for a KA with HLA's. A source for a good sheet metal intake would also be nice.

Best place for complete bottom end kit for the KA?

why does it matter.. you can have the SR for revs, and KA for power.

I dont know what HLA is but, from reading the other post i am guessing a rocker of some sort. Ka has a cam over bucket design (same as CA and RB cylinder heads) so the head can take some rpm's with some mods. Ramon takes his built ka to 8K with cams, springs, and valves but, i heard he could take it to 8.5k if he wanted.

Jeff made 500+whp on a stock block ka with the hx40.

EDIT:Here is a link to Jeff's video

Nice to know about the cam on bucket, never been into a KA. Just the SR. You think 7500-8000 is achievable then that will be fine. My JWT SR tune is rev limited at 7750 so the KA with a mild build on the head will rev just as high with 500-800rpm quicker spool and more TQ.

Thanks alot. Now my pants are wet and sticky. Where can I find more info on his build, please? I've have heard that making power and revving safely to 8k+ was supposed to be more difficult than that...

Edit: Nevermind. I found good info on the subject...

Lol... thats the thread I read about a month ago that cast so much doubt on the subject to me. It just seems that most ppl seem to think it's not worth it and try to dissaude you from trying. However, if you could have a motor with power and torque as low as 3k rpm, all the way up to 8/8.5k without any really crazy motorwork, why not?

Ramon's motor still has stock valves. It sees 7500-8000rpm often and i would estimate damn close to 700whp if not more.

Here are a couple of videos of his last races.

vs 500whp cobra, 650 on spray but claims not to be spraying. 240 was experiencing some igntion break up issues. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7DDblmDfWs

vs low 600whp civic. New ignition setup and a little more boost. http://videos.streetfire.net/v...3.htm

This is still on a mild street tune. Car has yet to see a dyno.

Can someone give me just the basics of "Romon's" setup. Turbo, tune, injectors, etc.... Just trying to get an idea of what I'm getting into to have a 10 second KA-T. I know I'll be running a holset HX40 pro with a BEP .70 ar housing(flows 70lb/min). Should be plenty of turbo to put a KA well into the 10's. Currently going HX35 on my SR with a JWT rom tune and 72lb injectors. Should be 450whp at 20-25psi before I run out of fuel.

Ramon's car is basically composed of a borg warner s372, custom intake and turbo manifolds made by me, built motor, standalone, and supporting fuel system. If you need more details, feel free to pm me.

R@mon's car is by far the most bad *** ka around. The drag cars that set new records are cool but, that is just one nasty street car.

for angel's fab ability ......cant wait for death-rolla to hit the street / track
