Hi allI'm new to this forum as well as new with my Q45 95' which I have bought 2 months ago.I bought this car for my wife as I have new Mazda but now we just switched as I like Q45 too much . Much better then mazda.

I just start experience a problem with engine and I really need your help.

Actually there are 2 problems but they could be from the same source.

1. Right after startup on RPM jumps on Idle in between 600 - 1000. This happens after I stop the engine and it is warm. Let say I go for groceries just for 20 min. It happens almost always (90%). If I press accel several times to rise RPM to 2000-2500 the problem goes away and engine start operating at normal 600 on idle.

2. since 2 weeks ago I start experience another problem. If car is staying for 2 days without driving it is hard to start it. what happens exactly is it starts simply with a key and RPM goes to 1000 then in a second drops to 0 and engine stops. After that it takes me about 30-60 seconds to start an engine with 3-5 attempts (about 5-10 sec each) + keep pressing accel. Finally it starts and goes to normal mode at about 1500 until it worms up. Looks like it start happening when temp. dropped as for winter. Outside temp is around 0C (zero) now.

I'm not very good in mechanics but I believe I can do some fixes myself if you guys help me to locate the problem.

thanks a lot

For the warm idle I'd clean the IAC for starters.. Quick and easy and it rules easy things out..

The hard start could be fuel related. Do you have any records of the fuel pump/filter being replaced?
