I have a S13 SR in my S14. On the way home, my RPM gauge just shuts off. I don't know what's wrong with it. I doubled check the wirings, but nothing. I have a SAFCII also and it reads 0 RPM. It runs all the way to the engine bay, and goes to a plug by the main harness, but htere is a cap at the end. It is basically not plug into anything. Does anyone know anything about this?

If its anything like a KA, the engine speed comes from the crank angles sensor on the distributor, from there it goes to the ecu, then the ecu sends a signal to the tach. Check the wiring from the ecu to the tach. It could also be a bad gauge.

the ecu sends out the signal to the tach and the SAFCII, both reads 0, does that mean that the ECU is not getting signal? Which means something is wrong with the stupid plug in the engine bay that is attached to the main harness????? This doesn't make any sense.

there is either something wrong with the plug or the sensor ( i dont know much about the sr, so i dont know what sensor it is or were it is located)
