yeah so here's idle problems 347862174 on this board.on my redtop i cleaned out the aav valve, intake mani was very clean near the head, and the injectors look brand new, thank you redline injector cleaner!however, the idle is set at 800 RPMS, but if i do ANYTHING to the car, it drops down to 500 and starts bogging, then goes back to 800. its not a huge deal, but if i come to a stop light, i push in the clutch and it drops. so here are the things that affect it...1) push in the brake pedal2) let off the clutch3) turn on headlamps4) turn the steering wheel

i have been told it could be a ground problem, and im starting to think so, due to the headlamps causing the bogging. anybody have the same experience?redtop s13

The brake pedal and the pressing in the clutch seems like a vented BOV but I dont know about it dropping when you turn on the lights and turn your car.

Go down while in a high rev then let off and take it out of gear. If your car acts like its going to die or does die then its your BOV......or you could look at your BOV and see if its vented lol but the other way's funner.

I have open atm bov and pretty much have the same "problem" I dont really consider it as a problem since it HAS to happen...

If Im going fast and come to a wheels locking stop and go to neutral... my car will stall just like otterman said.

During normal driving, when i take it out of gear it will usually dip to 500 then come right back up... no bogging down or anything..

all open atm bov issues

Yeah, it doesn't really bother me much. I've gotten used to eyeing my revs when I'm driving lol

does the idle drop occur when the engine is hot or all the time?

it could be a leaking BOV. I've got an hks ssqv and for the 1yr 3months i've had it running open atmosphere, i've never had this problem. My friend with an s14 sr same BOV never had a problem. Now my friend with a red-top s13 and an older Blitz super-sound had this problem. After a hard rip he'd throw it in neutral and the car would die/stall. Tightened up the adjuster screw and doesn't happen anymore. Just some input that not ALL open atmo BOV's do that. If it's working right it shouldnt.

yeah it does it when its hot too, im gonna try putting a better ground on the block from the firewall, see if that helps. also the boost gauge is saying im hitting 11 psi on the boostomagic meter. and its not just peaking at that, its holding steady at 11. whats the deal with that?
