rpm drops

my 300zx has been dropping rpms lately. when i push the accelerator more than half way it revs and pulls hard but then it will die off and come up with a check engine light and the rpms drop to zero, then kick back up a i keep going, but it will do it three or for times in a row. does any one know about that?:mad:

check your connections on the large connectors in front of the timing cover. they probably have corrosion in them. clean them up with battery terminal cleaner and tighten the female connector terminals a bit by gently bending them in so they fit tighter on the male pins.

on the right side you should have a subharness tie wraped to your upper rad hose. the connectors on that subharness is 2 of the connectors to check. on the left side ists the one on the cam position sensor.
