'97 Q45. When I turn my steering wheel whether sitting still or slowly maneuvering from a parked position the rpm's rise slightly. What would cause this? It seems I have a leak somewhere in the power steering system.
Fluid on the steering box. But the fluid level seems to maintain its level.

It's actually normal. There is a single-lead wire from your power steering pump to your ECU. Because turning increases load on the pump, and thus on the engine, the ECU increases idle a tiny amount to compensate.

You may well have a leak, but the two are unrelated.

Thanks for asking this question, and thanks for the answer. I have been wondering that same thing since I've had the car. I never had a car do that. That's one less thing to worry about.

I hadn't either with neither of my previous Q's. I've got an exhaust leak so it's been more pronounced since I can hear it.

Same here I had holes in both exhaust pipes in the same place. I used the metal exhaust wrap . I also wrapped it with the exhaust tape, before the metal. Tape should of sealed the holes. The wrap with metal, but just after 2 weeks already had holes again. So then I replaced the bad pipe with new one. About a month or so later started having bum marks so I'm still trying to figure it out.

I was told my cats were leaking. Had an extension pipe welded in which helped for awhile but it's back. Gonna bite the bullet and replace both side with some from eBay and run duals from there.

Your 97 didn't already have duels. My 99 has them. So I am wondering if my exhaust or any other cars exhaust run to hot. Also what causes it to run to hot?

No it doesn't. Gonna run duals when I replace the cats. '98 is what I have now but the '97 didn't have them either.
