I was wondering myself which took me to this forum, I thought it seemed very high. Mine match up with everyone else.

30K @ 80mph

my wife's 06 accord which is also 5 speed runs 23K at 80mph, much smoother.

question is, can this be re-programmed? coming from VW family, most of the stuff can be re-programmed.not sure about Nissan/Infiniti

Here is what I noticed: I brought my wife X5 in for a service. They loaned me 08 330ix. It has three gearing modes: auto, auto-sport and semi-manual. When I set it to auto, the rpm stayed below 2.7k at 80mph. It stayed below 3k all the times. When I drove the car with auto-sport mode. The rpm is very similar to M35x. I was getting 3.2k to 3.5k at 80mph. It was over 3k at 80mph cruising. It really behaved just like the M35x. Ever since I saw this. I stopped worry about my M35x. I think, Infiniti just tuned the car this way. Meaning at sport/aggressive mode as regular driving mode.

I hope this help. If anyone has the opportunity to try, please confirm the finding.
