I was thinking of using it to. I saw an episode of horsepower tv where they changed all fluid over to royal purple: crank case, transmission, rear diff, and a coolant additive. They dyno'd before and after and gaind 7.5 hp. Not too bad for changing just your fluids.

I was always told that less friction = more power.

I'd go with Lucas, but I've heard good things about Royal P too.

I use Mobil 1 15w-50 in my CA. I have heard lots of folks swear by it and so far it has treated me well. $4 a quart. Now I have used RP synthetic gear lube on my last 2 cars and then with my swap. Great stuff for those old and girl-driven synchros (both of my last 2 cars were previously owned by women and the synchros were slow and noisy...RP fixed that right up.)

It's only like 8 bucks more than Mobil 1 for an oil change.

I made the switch from Mobil-1 and it still made a considerable difference. Smooth shifting, idle, engine/valvetrain more quiet all-around.

I'd recommend for turbo cars, overkill for NA cars.
