Do it. You'll be the envy of your little cluster of townhouses! People be all like, "Man, I wish I was as rebellious as the Chris guy down the street!"

More serious answer, buy it before your kid is born and you have no more money or fun.

^^
Yeah, this is the plan.

I want to get my 250 fixed & sold so I can get something else before the kid arrives.

It's just a matter of what. An Enfield is a 22hp 500cc bike, totally antiquated, but I don't really have any great desire to own a superbike. This might be a little too far from "super" even for me though, CB750 might be better compromise, but at least a new Enfield has EFI.

They're surprisingly cheap, compared to something like a Bonnie.

I would rather go with a W650.

Or an SR400.

Or a CBX

If I was going to go with a UJM (which is probably the most likely choice, really), it'd be a CB350 Twin or Four, CB400 SS, or CB750. RD400 would be cool though, but I'm not sure I want to be doing that chemistry-set shxt at gas stations that comes with owning a two-smoker.

Something about a 500cc single on the Enfield seems neat to me, but I'm sure it'd vibrate horrendously.

The guy I bought my SV from has a CBX. He said he wished he had never ridden it...it was a beautiful work of art, but not much for riding.

I just had a customer who told me he has a collection of 12 Royal enfields. I had never heard of them before.

I thought this thread was going to be about an old black actor for some reason.

Sexy bike. love the elegant classic look. If it were me, I'd get an older Honda CB750 with the stock quad pipes. Unique sound.

It would be an amusing sight seeing Hash "firing up" an Enfield rifle while sitting on it. :)

The RD400 is a blast, very quick bike. They have oil injection systems so there is no need to worry about mixing the gasoline and oil.
