so i went back to my car today and tried to see why the rotor wasnt turning when i put the nuts on without the wheel and its not the caliper clamping down on it, is it possible that because i had to use a hammer to "convince" my old rotor to come off that i bent something? thats what im guessing i just dont know a whole lot about what im looking at and what it could be. just barely tightening down my lug nuts is all it takes for the rotor to not turn. i could really use some help, seeing as how driving it would be a bad move

it sounds like you may have bent the rotor. you could check it with a straight edge or a dial indicator. also make sure to get all the rust off of the hub considering you said you had to convince the rotor to come off

Match the new rotor to the old rotor. Sounds like the new rotor hat is different depth.

or

You changed out the caliper, as well as the caliper bracket? Match the brackets, new to old...
