my friend was trying to tell me that there was a special edition roush s30 that came with a turbocharged 4- cylinder motor, and that they made 500 of them. i told him he was wrong and that his friend probably put a mustang svo motor in his z and said it was special. then i told him the only special edition z's were the zap z and the black perl for that gen. he said im full of sh** and that hi friends car is a legit roush z with the side banner like mustangs have and all that stuff. . has anyone else ever heard a storie like that? i dont believe him for one second. i wanted to hear your guys thoughts on this.

your friend is either confused or yanking your chain, I actually did half build a 2.3t s30 but scrapped the project after fabbing the mounts, the pan and steering shaft still needed modification, roush never worked on any nissan datsun. Or the ford 2.3 turbo, the svo stangs were built in house by fords Special Vehicle Operatios hence the SVO, anthat was early 80's, the S30 was built from 70-78, long before ford started turboing the 2.3

There was a small American company in California putting SBC V8's in the S30 in the late 70's early 80's called Scarab

I have to say that the Nismo Mustang GTR is my favorite car, but the Rousch 240Z is my second favorite.

here si the test fit when I decided to do the 2.3 swap, you can see the driver side engine mount, that is directly in the way of the steering column, it did place the whole engine behind the crossmsmber which was nicethe 2.3 was a much better fit int he rx2 yup I am just that dumb

I'm unaware of Roush creating any such S30 for production. Having done some projects with Roush and SVT in Michigan, special projects are conceivable with those teams. The Scarab comes to mind in the late 70's as an off-line program.
