I almost rounded off my driveshaft bolts at the diff.Im using a 14mm 6point open flare nut wrench. When I did get a good grip on then I put nearly all my weight and might into it and it slipped. Theres not much grip on 2 of the nuts anymore. I might cut them, That would be a pain. Does anybody have any suggestions???

I had this happen on a J30 diff from the yard. I ended up having to cut the head off, but it did chew up the shaft some. I would grind the bolt head down till its almost all of the way down then drill it out from the center.

vice grips. Use them to hold the head of the bolt. Use a box wrench to break 'em loose.

If you're worried about rounding the nuts off too, use a flared nut wrench, or a 6 point box wrench.

OP, get the best grip you can with whatever tool. Once its in place and sturdy (and I'm assuming you're using jackstands) you then take your hand jack and jack up the tool. Thats how I did it.
