Well most of you know i have two rb25det powered s13's, well during a saturday drive some idiot decided to brake check me while we were taking off from an intersection. long story short, i no longer am driving my hatch due to front end damage i am now swaping my 4th rb into a trunk car i bought a few months back. well when i removed the motor i did the usual inspection and discovered a few loose exhaust studs that quickly turned to broken exhaust studs lol. i noticed black carbon deposits under the exhaust manni so i removed it to discover four cracks on my manni . i thought these things where bullet proof! has anyone every seen this on their rb exhaust manni before?? and whats funny is i put down 275 rwhp with this thing

If you want another stock manifold let me know, I have one.

Wierd on the cracks! Mine certainly didn't look like that!

im gonna speculate that the reason it cracked was because of thermal expantion and loose studs...

I could have also been running a little lean as well as vibrations( motor mounts and or loose exhaust manifold bolts).

I bet carls spot on. I replaced my exhaust studs with arp's for that reason. The factory ones break too easy and there a bastard to get out of alum.

i haven't had a problem *knock on wood* with my factory ones. never changed them out and my manifolds have been on and off probably 6-8 times since I got the motor. are you guys using anti seize? I usually give everything a good coat so the bolts go in and out easier.
