Ok, so I'm sure that some of you guys may remember my first build thread that I attempted to write. And thats really all it turned into, was an attempt.

But hear me out now that the total failing of the last car was not due to me being lazy or unmotivated to build or just failing. I actually had a horrible rough patch through out the entire process of trying to get things to happen to that car.

It started the day that I bought the damn thing (which should have been a sign). I was fired no more than 2 hours after the purchase of that beautiful pile of sh.......... But i tried to prevail, making small amounts of progress with fixing little things and getting it clean. All of this just keeping me busy for that time being.

And then with a strike of luck I found a job and began to order some tidbits here and there but nothing major. And with that small amount of success came more of life humping me against my will when i was kicked out of my apartment for numerous complaints, some of which coming from noise complaints, about my car.

So with a new home found (this one with a garage as a perk!) and a job had it was time to actually start a build rite?

Not a bloody chance, Job once again lost thanks to our ever so pleasing economy, and here we are at a standstill yet again. And that is where things stayed until i had to park the car because my insurance was canceled due to my not having a job, which also lead to my license being suspended, because with no job you cant pay that pesky 125 dollar exhaust ticket.

So for 3 to 4 months my precious 240 sat in front of my house, looking sad and calling for help.

And it arrived in the form of a new job!! so with work once again being started I was excited to post progress for you guys. I started buying up parts from some local guys and got the car taken apart to start body work when yet again, you guessed it.

With a broken hand and 2200 buks in medical bills you really cant build a car. So time to push all this out of my way and get this thing going in the rite direction.

My 21st birthday was not to long ago and chose to take a road trip a couple hours out of town and spend the money that was going to go to my birthday shenanigans and put it towards a new shell. New shell in hand, or... uh... on trailer, with no suspension. or axles, diff, core support, and other minor items i was set to start.

And here we go,

Here is the new shell (next to the original project).

Ups, Minty interior, nearly perfect body, no rust and 5 lug swap rear.

Downs, Its missing everything else lol.

But no worries because I'm using my car as a parts car, and replacing the majority of my stock suspension.

So progress with new shell as of now, Coil overs on the way, wheels at the powder coaters, and both cars now in a shop, so enough of my talking for now and until next time, you guys enjoy. :werd:

Oh yeah, heres me rims. :bigthumb:

Got to come home from work to thos a couple of weeks ago. :woot:

Thats all for now. have more pictures as the parts roll in.

So small news, but with no pics yet. Got a quote on getting my advans powdercoated and its only going to cost me a whopping 110 buks for em both through a local shop. Ive seen his work and hes good. So as soon as i sell a few of my parts ill have pictures of a fresh set of cutom colored wheels!!

I may be down but i damn sure aint out haha.

Im now doing everything off of my massive hundred dollar a week unemployment checks so s*** goin slow.

I had to sell my grey shell thanks to the county because once again the tried to tow it so im back to building the original hatch, I got lucky though. I for the most part traded that for a set of enkei rs two piece wheels in 16x8 that i may try and find 10in barrels for. If i cant find the barrels then im going to keep them in og perfect mint shape and take my 16x7 advans and have them turned into 16x10 which i got a quote for and its going to cost me about 550 after shipping them to cali. Little pricy but would definitely make for a beautiful set of wheels so i gues we shall see what happens.

Other than that im still looking for work so i can get my build started again, really just need to get my suspension arms ordered then i can pull my subframes off and get down to buisness.

Ill post up a few pictures of the progress ive made up to this point tomorrow when i pic up my enkeis. Till then yall have a good one :gapteeth:

Okay guys, I know its been a while since youve seen this thread on page one but here it is again.

I have had a decent amount of progress since i last posted but I am unfortunately still on the hunt for a steady 9-5 with no luck so funding is currently preventing the amounts of progress I want ot be making. :tisk:

But with that small amount of information aside its time to get on with the fun schtuff. As a few of may remember I was awaiting on a new shell the last time, and while I didnt get the one I was hoping to get I have managed to get my hands on a fairly decent 91 hatch base model that hadnt been riden, too hard. The biggest downsides are that it has an aftermarket sunroof, which would of been great had a previous owner not removed it and only used 5 out of 15 screws to put it back in  . Thanks to that small handful of half assedness i have a leaky roof with more dents and wrinkles than a 90 year old woman in a demo derby, but i have a couple ideas Im tossing back n forth about how to take car of that.

The rest of the body work was pretty decent accept it looks like someone curbed or smashed, or screwed it some how because the pass side rocker is pushed up about an inch on the bottom, and the frame rail under the floor board is also pushed up and it too the floor board with it but Im no too concerned with that right now because ill take care of it a little bit later on. The rear pass quarter was also mashed and then horribly fixed and Im still trying to figure out how I want to tackle that.

For the most parth though it is a clean and mostly factory car, and I got it for free which makes all the b.s. worth it!! :dblthumb:

Before I got my new shell dropped off in my driveway I took some parts that had piled up that I no longer needed and traded them for two of these beauties wih bride rails/sliders and some sparco 4pt harnesses.
Image

Image

Heres that haggard a** body repair i warned you guys about, they drilled into it and pulled it with screws then packed it full of bondo :tisk:
Image

Came with a dead dual cam but i plan on ousting that in favor of something a little more fun.
Image

I had already broken into the int demolition before I took this picture but you get the idea, most of it was still there. Was being the key word here.
Image

I was very very pleased about this!! :bigthumb: No rust or holes, winning.
Image

See, doesnt look too bad. from here lol. looks like they took 80 grit to it n layed white rattle can primer on it. Its got more track marks than a back alley junkey.
Image

Another couple hours put in I was left with this.
Image

Front end lined up. when i first got the car the hood wouldnt close. I was told the latch was froze up but upon further inspection I discovered that the core support was bent to hell because the bolt that holds up the upright under the latch was g o n e. So I did some lifting and prying and pulling and got everything put back in place and bolted back up.
Image

Ummmmm, pretty self explanitory.
Image

Got this bish ready to get yoked out.
Image

Put in some work and some elbow grease to get myself a factory fresh set of tails for when my paint works all done.
Image

Went to the store and picked myself up some primer and sandpaper and started on my front end. Got a couple small dents on one fender i have to push out, really small stuff. The bumper needs a little filler in some rock chips and a small crack fixed but over all I was very impressed with the 21 year old front end.
Image

Image

Like most s13s most things were trashed, including these plate lights, but with a little of my magician like skills I gottem lookin new again.
Image

And the sound deadenings removed, all i have left to do is wire wheel the floor and and get it painted up.
Image

Image

SO!! thats where things are as of right now. Later this week the dual cam should be out and the front subframe dropped for a good scrubbing and some new paint and bushings and I will hopefully have some of the int paint work started. So like always until then, you guys have a good one and keep n eye out for more updates on this never ending hassle!! :werd:
