rough startup

so when i startup my car the rpms drop almost instantly and the car will die out unless i rev up for a little while. also my idle stays around 1000 now. are the belts the problem? or is it my timing chain? because it makes a screeching noise on startup.

chains make rattling noises, belts screech. check for vacuum leaks and see if your iac components are functioning properly
