My boss borrowed my car last week and filled my tank with 87 octane which my car does not like. I have run 87 in it a few times when the prices were high and it has never done this to me before.

What is happening is it is having rough start ups. Basically its taking a while to turn over and fire up. Almost like the battery is dying. The battery is practically brand new so I know that isn't it. Has anyone heard of this and do you know what it could be ??? I really don't think it is the gas as it did not ever have this problem any of the times I filled up with 87 in the past. I recently just put a new full tank of 91 octane but it is still acting up with the rough start ups when i try to turn it over.

Could be alternator not properly charging battery. Check battery voltage with car running and lights on. Should be above 12.5v. I might be corroded battery cables. Clean them. It could be the starter itself. When they begin to wear out they act like battery voltage low when infact brushes are worn.

Where did he buy the gas from, Jihad Joe?

Get a couople of quarts of ISO-HEET and run them through, followed by a can of BG44K. Then change the oil and filter, and fuel filter, if needed.

Keep an eye out for a leaky injector. Can lead to hydrolock and kill the engine. If exhaust is extremely rich, beware.
