rough start question.

When go to start the car first thing in the morning it starts just fine and idles at 1k for a few seconds then drops and dies or comes close to it. I restart again, and same thing except this time I give it a little gas to keep it at 1 k to prevent it from dying again. Once it been running for a bit it runs fine all day. Until the car has been off for awhile and I go to start it again. It's rainy outside so I'll look into more tommorrow but for the meantime anyone have any suggestions? Maybe a bad maf?

I did a search and came across a thread where someone had similar issues but can't seem to find it anymore.
