Rough runnin prollems

i have a 1990 240sx coupe that i just got runnin, and it shakes really bad when running and it has a kinda tick up top thats going on with it, its got plenty of oil up to the head but the oil light stays on.... what its doing is shaking really bad and shooting a kinda white smoke out of the exhaust but there is no coolent in it, i looked in the chilton and they said i need to check the gas if its dirty it will make it idle rough.... can anyone tell me what the deal is with the tick???? any help would be appriciated greatly.... thanks

well if ur car has enough oil and ur sure of it, the ticking i most likely ur injectors. if it is more like a rattling noise then its ur timing chain. u can remove the front cover to check ur timing chain guides and replace them if necessary. as for the rough running it could be a number of things. fouled spark plugs maybe?? have u done a tune up?? dirty gas can make it run rough as well. how long has it been sitting for??

it sit for..... the guy i got it from told me 3 months prior to my geting it and it sit for another 2 while i was working on it.....we did look at it closer today and found that the #4 injector is not fireing... we replaced that and it still did not fire... do you belive that could be the computer going bad??? i have another that i can test it.... how loud would the tickin be??? a while ago i had a civic that was running really rough and found out it was an injector out and was doing the same thing and it was just the connector.... but... since we replaced it once whats the possibilities i could have replaced it with another bad injector... it looked pretty new but i dont know the condition, were going to try an injector that we know works and if thats the deal i will try the computer... and i plan on pulling the tank and emptying the old groody gas....
