Guys,

Lately I have been having some issues with my engine. Sometimes when I slow down to stop, the engine will drop to 500 or lower and almost stall. At idle, it seems to hunt around a bit. Today when I slowed down to stop, it stalled out.

My guess is that the O2 sensor is dirty because I am running a Walbro 255 and the engine is running way rich. Does that sound right? What else can I check, that it easier to get at than the O2 sensor?

open BOV or recirc?sometimes thats a problem (not so much with SR's but more or less all 4G63's)it'll do it when the bov goes without being recirculated and it confuses the computer momentarially and causes a really RICH mix and makes it almost stall/hunt....

Mine does it worse now that i have alot of upgrades parts too.....try recircualting the bov or just live with it

Sounds like open BOV problem. Try tapping the gas as the engine passes 2krpm

if its open bov prob dont get rid of it, just add in a couple washers behind the spring in the bov (should be included when you purchase it). i had major stalling problems with the h-rfl, added in 3 washers, and runs great with absolutely no idling probs :)

yuck.....turbo xs.......if it is....PLEASE get rid of it......anyways tightening up the bov wont help any in his case.....some motors do it and some dont.....really only solution is to recirc or deal.....

most bovs can recirc anywayz....sometimes u just gotta buy a kit (hks ssqv, etc)

I am still running the stock SMIC with the stock recirc valve. I think that I found the source of the leak. It looks like one of the rubber pieces that connects to the intake side of the pipe which leads to the turbo isn't attached right. I'm going to fiddle with it in the morning when the car is cool. I sure hope that is the problem, because everything else seems to be tight.

I had that problem, it was my BOV and I have a TurboXs BOV. To fix the problem was to add a few washers, but now my Sr idles too high.

if the car idles high after adding washers, you may need to adjust your car's idle manually because its probably too high. adding washers in won't make you idle higher.

what you talking about... the rfl is probably one of the best sounding bov's i've ever heard on a 240. if you don't believe me let me know, i can go outside and take a vidclip right now.

personally i think the rfl sounds like GARBAGE but thats just me....i dont like the WOOSH sound at all...plus they're very cheaply made (vs. HKS, GReddy, Blitz).....My HKS SSQV sounds ten times better.....and for the BEST sounding BOV.....drum roll please...................... Tial 50mm BOV OWNs every other one on the US market!personal opinion thats all......

I'm really really sorry to threadjack, but this is for mynismo:I think your tan interior would look a bit better if you painted the center console/radio trim tan as well. I did a quick photoshop...

have you ever thought about it?

now to the real thread:

my stock ka has an idle proplem kinda like that. if the car was just sitting there though, it would idle fine. but if I hit the brakes, the idle would drop to like 5-600 and bounce around. I think mine might just be an electrical problem though, 'cause it'll do the same thing if I turn my highbeams on.
