Ok, I'm not to literate about cars and I forgot my old username here, but I was able to fix some important things on my car with some help. I've tried searching for the problem but most of the ones I find aren't like my situation. So heres what happened ... car sat in garage for few months with about less thank half tank of premium. After starting it back up after all that time it was idling like complete CRAP! Not to mention it wouldn't even hold an idle. So after it died after a few more tries I heard a relay ticking like crazy under the hood, EGI relay?, so I replaced it, started it back up and it seems to be holding a idle but a very intermittant one. It wasn't stalling but the motor would start shaking violently like it was sitting in there with no motor mount lol. after a few minutes it would bog down to almost stalling and kind of catch its last breath again and the idle would smooth out for a second. After that I figured I'd mark the distributor and try moving it from left to right. Well as I turned it towards the front of the car the idling got worse, looked like the motor wanted to jump out of the car, so I turn it allllll the way towards the back of the car and it idles alright, but you can smell the gas like crazy(from exhaust) and every like 30 seconds it'll bog for for a few seconds and then hop right back up to a nice steady idle. I've already checked the vacuum connections even the ones that run inbetween the manifold(and most of the ones against the firewall.) I've cleaned the throttle body and all the ground connections under the hood. Cleaned off the MAS carefully. I looked at the IAA unit, and it seemed alright, it still looked pretty new and clean back there lol(that doesnt say the sensors were working properly because i didnt test them.) but the adjusting screw didn't seem loose. I was thinking about testing resistance in the injectors, testing the IAA solenoid, cleaning out the EGR, replacing PVC. Also before I moved the dist. I pulled the cap just to see if the timing was alright, and it seemed alright because they said that it could be lined up with either #1 or #4, and it was on 4 so I figured it was alright. Can someone help? any suggestions
edit: i forgot to mention its a 92 fb with ka24de, it also backfires like crazy, i think its cause of the dist turned all the way back, even when I give it a little gas from the throttle body u can hear it backfiring the entire way up the RPM range
