Car: 2002 nissan xterra SE V6 4x4 sway-a-way preloaded torrsion bars and 1.5 inch rear shackles 265/75/17 kumho kl71 bushwacker fender flares some fender trimming and eaton e-locker

i have a 2002 nissan xterra 3.3v6 4x4 has rough idle ( intermittent miss ) replaced all plugs and wires w/ factory plugs and wires. did throw code once while driving, knock sensor circuit open i believe but MIL went off and code was stored and never became active again. also vehicle has a "hot" smell after driving for 30-40 mins at highway speeds comes out of vents smells kinda like hot oil . i was told to check EGR but i dont know... :confused:
