My G35 just passed over 80K miles and I have noticed the idle is getting a little rough.. I have new spark plugs but they did not help with the rough idle.

any ideas?

How often do you check & replace the air filter?

Mine seems to get pretty dirty after 10k miles

You replaced the spart plugs, what about the wires, Also the O2 sensor, (or I think yours has two) could be going bad too. Maybe even throw some fuel/carb injection cleaning solution in the intake, maybe have some bad gunk/funk growing.

I got one! Just call the insureance and make sure it has full coverage!

Then burn it to the ground in a public place so that you can say it was stolen and burned!

After the new plugs, and maintenance items, try looking at the EGR pintle. The pintle in pintle type EGR valves doesn't seat as well after many miles. If the G has a pintle type valve, take it off and clean the pintel and the seat. The valve is suppose to be closed during idle, but if it is dirty it doesn't close completely. A rough idle results. Check with infiniti to see if this is user serviceable, as it is something that, if done improperly, could result in error codes. (I have never taken the cover off my engine, or I could tell you more)

#1 New Air Filter

#2 The G35 does not have wires it has Coilpacks..

#3 I have cleaned EGRs before on my 240SX I very much doubt it is the cause..

#4 I don't see any vac leaks but I can check again

#5 it might be the O2 Sensor.. my check engine light has been coming on and going off every now and then.

Have you checked your codes? How about the throttle position sensor?

I had the same problem. Occassionalt would stall after a start. I did all what was suggested here. Still rough.

Cleaned throttle body with carb cleaner. Unbolted it so the funky juice would not run into the intake manifold. It did the trick.
