rough idle

hey all, ever since i have had my s13 bout 9 months its been chassing idle.runs fine at start up once i have taken it for a drive n stop at traffic lights or anywhere, it will idle badly.. around the 500 - 800 range just up and down. have had a bit of stuff checkd and down such as cleaned air filter, new fuel filter, newplugs. cleaned other simular things.

Also it is worse in summer i think.. and the motor and whole car is shakey when it does it(any timeof the yr).

i put a new fuel pump in and that seemed to fix it for a short amount of time.

maby it is better then what it used to be but it still does it.

any ideas will but much apprectiated.

Check for vacuum leaks and check the idle switch/TPS assembly. Mine idles retarded until fully warm. I just chalk it up to the crap ECCS and the fact that I am 90% sure I have at least one leaky injector.

Mine used to do that back in the day and I never could figure out what caused it. I added some large gauge battery ground straps to the engine (2 going to intake mani, one going to the head on the exh side) and it never did it again. Then my aicv deal went out and caused a whole slew of cold idle issues.

i do belive that it could be as simple as a bad earth.

Its only running 8gage from the battery then it bolts to the shassy just next to the battery, then off that bolt aswell another 8gage cable runs to the motor.

My mate has his run strait from his battery to his motor n its bigger gage than this.. so i'm hopping by doing it like that, it will fix my prob.Looks promising.

Bit dodgy how its set up atm. cheers for your help, will keep ya'll posted. peace. buddy.
