im assuming this happens alot, if not always to guys with ka-t's, but whenever i push in my clutch and let the rpms drop my car stumbles and almost dies, usually it does die. and if it doesnt it drops to like 300 rpms and then jumps to 600 and then does that for like 5 sec and then returns to normal idle.what causes this and how can i fix it, it make it a chore to drive my car.thanks-tim

Is the BOV recirculated?

If not, do that and your problem will be gone.

If it is recirc'd...give us the details of the rest of your setup and maybe we can help.

This is not "normal" for a well set up KA-T...

Mine doesn't go below 800rpm if I remember to turn my NE1 to .8% with open atmosphere.

hmm, i dont have a safc, and im running an atmospheric bov, but, it doesnt blow off when i just let off the throttle, my bov is on a pretty tight setting and it still does it.still think it is the bov? im not really sure, it might be, but, i just couldnt see that happening when im not losing any air throught there (i dont think).-tim

It sounds like the problem is due to the Atmospheric BOV, maybe even though it isnt Relieving Boost???Recirculate that bish!

That is the problem. It opens whether you can hear it or not. Either recirculate or get an SAFC. Problem has been discussed over and over again.

You can also adjust the idle via a small screw located on the passenger side of the motor, close to the firewall.

I've done that and had no issues. My rpm's sit around 850-900 ish and I have'nt stalled out once. My bov is atmospheric too. You turn towards the front of the car to increase and towards the firewall to decrease.

Try that as it's an easy trouble shoot.

fanatic, didnt you say a while back on ka-t.org that you had some stalling problems and got pissed and ran a ****load of seafoam through your iac valve hose, and that worked great..i think im going to recurculate it anyways, you can hear the bov anyways....is there anything else besides seafoam that i can use? ive never had expirience with seafoam before... dont you just turn your car on, spray the **** in and let your car idle at about 2k for a couple minutes? how much does seafoam cost.thanks alot guys-tim
