i searched the forums and didn't really find an answer so though id ask.after my car gets warm, it idles rough, not horribly but enough to notice. the guy that had the car before me had greddy mufflers put on and had the cats cut off. there is nothing on my exhaust to give any backpressure (cats or resonators). would this be causing the rough idle or could it be something else?

..or bad Coolant Temp Sensor, or faulty AAC, or corroded connectors which I would check first as these engines are really prone to poor connections and then they don't run correctly.

Usually when the engine is cold and it's on hi-idle it masks the issue.

Take the time to check the connectors for corrosion and test the components including injectors while the connectors are off.

a lot of times the difference between open loop and closed loop could be you issue. while in open loop the computer uses preset figures and disregards the figures from certain sensors. When it warms up and goes into closed loop it gets a possible faulty reading from a sensor and doesn't run right. Just to add more confusion. basic knowledge one should know anyway.

Cheez-it it hasn't logged in since the forum changeover about 2 years ago. Doubt he'll see this. Also, this is what a private message was designed for. I know you're new and only have 1 post, but you only need 10 posts to be removed from the new users category and use the PM system. Don't bump a 3 year old thread just because someone you know posted in it at one point without adding anything to the conversation, please.
