rough idle, lots of back fire and white smoke

i have a 240sx s13 w/ black top sr20det

I'm getting rough idle, when reved higher and back down vehicle almost stalls out.

My RPM gauge does not work but during pull out and cruise vehicle seem to be under lots of stress and lots of back firing.

I cleaned and adjusted tps check the maf and also my injectors but nothing

any ideas?

I would also like to find out the specs for the TPS, MAF and the poil pack sensor.

PS.My friend has the same whip 89 240sx he has a gas leak near the tank. everytime filled up it pours out from the top. any idea what we should expect when we bring down the tank?

Get a FSM and check your compression. Sound to me like you blew a head gasket. the FSM will also have the specs you are looking for. try the search function.

For the fuel leak, probaply just need to replace the gasket for the fuel tank access. Look under the carpet in the trunk right side. You should see an access panel. remove it and you will see the opening for the fuel pump. the gasket for that opening is probaply where your leak is.

Check you Spark Plugs.... and try NGK BKR7E gap at 30 and see what happens.....

also What are your A/FR'S ??

alright i tested for blown head gasket, test passed

As for spark plugs i actually just got does exact plug but didn't gap i'm going to check that out.

but i'm still confused about the white and black smoke

White smoke could mean that you have a blown Head gausket, which Causes the Coolant to enter the combustion chamber, and when the coolant is burned it will create white smoke.

Black smoke is normaly caused by too much fuel in the combustion chamber.

Have you checked for Vaccume Leaks ?? You can check by useing Brake Cleaner. Spray it around vaccume lines and if you have a leak your'll notice you idel go up.

Also is you Blow Off Valve routed back to the intake or does it blow off into the atmosphear ??

If it blows off into the atmosphear then thats your cause for it almost dieing on you when you rev the engine. If you rout it back to the intake It will eliminate that problem.
