rough idle black smoke.

after i did the custom short intake upgrade, i ran into some issues with the MAF. i tinkered around with the connections and it seemed to fix itself. now i get rough idle and black smoke comming out. i changed the O2 sensor and the new one got soot all over in a short time. can it be the cat's problem?

i noticed a carbon canister thingy next to the old air box when i re-located the battery to the driver side.

im having the same problem, except mine has drops of gas coming out of the exhaust. and it still wont idle right

check the coolant temp sensor circuit for the ecu (not for the dash gauge)???

mebbe check for injector leak???

I had the same problem up untill it was running so rich that my car bogged down, died, and had to get towed. #4 fuel injector fixed my problem. It got so bad that it was spraying gas out from under the seals on the injector. o-rings didn't fix it for me so i don't know if i would try that if i were u, but make shure that is your problem first cuz injectors r expensive.

Ensure that a hose is hooked up to IACV tube that comes out right by the throttle body. That tube needs to get metered air from the intake pipe or your idle will be a f***ed up.
