Okay, so I just got done dropping in my freshly built CA18DET and now I'm having some issues with it. Upon first startup it ran just fine and idled good too. I Installed an SAFC II and now it will startup normal, but after running for roughly a minute it starts to stumble. You can give it throttle on initial startup and it doesn't hesitiate, but after it has warmed up a bit the rpms start to jump up and down 100-300. Eventually it starts stumbling and under throttle it misfires. Idling it starts to act like its not getting enough fuel then will eventually die.

Naturally my first thought was that the SAFC was causing the issue, so I clipped the power wire to see if it would run normally again, but it does not!

My question is whether the SAFC could still be affecting the engine with the power wire disconnected? I noticed that after I hooked it back up, it remembered the settings I programmed it for. The only settings I changed were for initial setup:

Sensor Type: Hot Wire (arrow up)
7 in 7 out (stock MAF)

Mods (of importance):
CP 9.5:1 Pistons 83.5mm
Cometic Gasket set
T3 Turbo
FMIC
440cc GTR Injectors
Blitz Access ECU
SAFC II

New Plugs
Fresh Oil and filter (10w30)

If it matters, I don't have an O2 sensor or exhaust hooked up at the moment..

O2 could do it. Once it comes out of warm up it'll attempt to use it. And If you put on just a O2 elbow / DP and leave the rest open it may still not work since especially at low throttle it may suck extra air up into the O2 area and throw the readings off. Put on a full exhaust (cat or not) and hook up the O2 properly.

also remember, if you are using a KA24E MAF, it does *not* directly interchange with the CA18DET MAF. It will give problems unless you reflash the ECU's ROM with the correct KA24E MAF table

Thanks guys, I think I have narrowed it down to the O2 issue. I'm looking to buy an 02 elbow. I am using a stock CA MAF. Anyone have an elbow for a t3?

Though the power is disconnected, your afm is still wired to the SAFC, correct? If that is the case, then it is going to continue on it's path until you take the SAFC out the loop and let the engine run on it's own. But due to the fact that you have bigger injectors, it will not run correctly in stock form either. And also, as mentioned, if your 02 sensor is playing-up, you also will have some driveability issues. But I think it's more the SAFC than the 02 sensor, but I could be wrong.
