rough idle and more

ok....for about 2 weeks now i have been trying to figure out what my problem was. i have a sea-sawing throttle. it wall rasie and tehn lower one secondd to the next.i did oil change,fuel injector cleaner and what not. after the fuel injector cleaner it ran well.but then soon returned withthe puttering.the car ran very sluggish in all gears making a loud sputtering thumping sound.i raced my buddy in his esi(non turbo eclipse) and he owned me. i raced him before i had any problems and i just owned him.i beat him with no big deal. ok so i took out my spark plugs..and found them sooty black.not oil but sooty.i have realized my gas mileage has been kinda bad for a while too. so am i running rich? do i need a new O2 sensor? please help me out.thanks aot.one more question...how doi clean out teh throttle body? i tried teh spray in to throttle body while car is under load with the front intake piece off and the car ran like ****...is taht my MAF sensor? do i need to take teh throttle body off to clean it? if so how. and please explain where and how teh MAF sensor works.sorry for all the Q's. thanks alot

Why not go buy some NGK spark plugs and replace your spark plugs... and make sure your spark plug wires are hooked up tight. You may be running on 3 cylinders ;-)
