[S13] rough idle and black smoke??

89 sr20det, im getting rough idle and black smoke, and when i come to a stop car dies. any one. (black smoke gas) would that be right?? HELP!!

it could be a bad maf or maf wiring but before u jump tu that conclusion how do the plugs look?

Going thru the same thing haha. I'm thinking MAF too but I've heard it can also be fuel regulator. Do you have black spots on your bumper cause of your exhaust? I know for sure it's cause I'm running rich. Does your motor hesitate a little at higher rpms esp when you let of the gas a little or try to cruise at that speed? When I figure something out I'll let you know, same for you yea? I'm personally going to try and start with regulator.
