got my iap stage 2 kit on and running. when driving the car in low gear it wants to hesitate at certain early rpms. when i get the car past the rpms it pulls pretty good but when i hit it wot and shift to 2nd then come to a stop it almost dies. i can feather the throttle and it does somewhat ok. what does anyone think the problem is? thanks for any help!

is your bov recirculated or open to atmosphere? if ota and pull through you gonna need to adjust the hell out the bov till it gets decent enough to not stall. How is idle other than after acceleration?

blow off valve is open to atmosphere. idle any other time is like it is supposed to be around 800rpms. every now and then it will bump up to 1000 and drop right back down to 800rpms. i've put an adjustable nismo fpr on to help with the fuel pressure. at first when i did this it seemed to help. maybe i was just hoping. anyhow it still dropping after hard acceleration. if the bov needs to be recirculated thats what i'll do. i'm just tired of feathering the pedal just to keep it at idle after jumping on it. so any input is appreciated.

yeah it sounds like an unstable idle from the bov, you dont HAVE to recirc it, you can always do a blow through setup, I was running blow through, with ota bov and it was a solid idle, while pull through gave alot of stalling/rough idle after accell....

blow through also warmed up about 5 minutes faster... I noticed a better a/f ratio(mines all crazy kinda hybrid so I understand) at idle and low load.

its simple if you can work some pipe just kiddin

basicaly your just moving the afm to the charge pipe side(if IC'd do it to the cold side), put the bov before the afm so when it dumps air it doesnt get metered by the afm. Tune "should" be close still, mine is. hope that helps its been brought to my attention I cant explain shyt

I had the same problem a while back..I was running an oa bov and a suck-through mafs and my car wouldn't idle at all! After switching to a blow through, my car runs and idles perfect. Hope this helps, I had some extra alum. ic pipes laying around so I fabed this up pretty quick. Also, you're gonna need a mafs adapter to couple it in the pipes (you probably already know/have that anyway) pardon the filthyness You can keep your OA BOV! ftw!

Doesn't the MAF also mesure intake air temp (IAT). There would be a deffinate difference between the two locations. seems blow thru would be the only way to run it. Are there any draw backs to BT, why wouldn't everyone do it that way?

well it comes down to a maf doesnt understand psi only FLOW. Seems like its easier to mount it as draw threw I was d/t till I realized how much "better" b/t is. No idle issues or nasty rich decel while hoping it doesnt die out, just smooth idle and that lovely lean backfire. I also remember soemthing about a few guys killing maf's left and right. I have hit 12 psi a few times on stock sohc maf and dohc stock injectors, I have had no maf failure issues. Thats only about 200 miles or so of driving @ 7 psi ish, daily. I'll let you guys know how the eghey bov does ota, should be exactly the same though
