Wasn't a problem before this recent mend.

Could it also be a need to replace the MAF sensor?

Wiggling the little wire harness connected to it seems to cause the rough idle.

Is there a best method used to diagnose this and apply a fix?

P.S.: Is there a best place to source the $en$or if it is in need of replacement?

If it's the harness to the MAF connector you're wiggling, then you probably just need to clean the connector or replace it. Joe has the little pins and the housing. The prices may not be current, but here are the part numbers:

****Connector Part Numbers****

38751-123 Pins (you need 3) $1.54 ea 38751-112 Connector Shell $17.08 Total: $21.70

The invoice shows Location/List as BC1A

1-888-216-5328

The MAF can be gotten used for under $100, but all the MAFs are getting a bit old now, therefore less trustworthy.

I'd start by carefully disconnecting the MAF connector and cleaning both sides as well as you can. If that doesn't fix it, replace the connector. If that fails, replace the MAF itself. More than a few NICO members, including myself, found used MAFs through http://www.car-part.com under Air Flow Meter.
